Figures you can quote
As of the latest entry, :
- At least 150,418 job cuts at 75 companies in 14 countries have been attributed to AI. This counts exact headcounts only; percentage and ranged cuts are tracked but not summed.
- 56% of those job cuts (83,941) were attributed to AI by the companies themselves. The rest were attributed by credible reporting, or the companies said the cuts would fund AI.
- 32% of those job cuts (48,196) were outside the technology industry.
- The largest AI-attributed cuts with exact counts: Oracle (21,000), Amazon (16,000), Microsoft (9,000), Meta (8,000), Standard Chartered (7,800).
These figures are a floor, not a census: they cover publicly reported cases only, and are not comparable with Challenger, Gray & Christmas's U.S. count. Why →
